In 1955, when the Servants of Mary opened Marian High School, they made the promise that no girl would be turned away for financial reasons. Today, we remain committed to that promise. Marian works with each family to review all demonstrated need to ensure that finances does not prevent a girl from attending Marian.

That is why we treat each application with the utmost respect, dignity and confidentiality. We hope to alleviate any anxiety you might have about the cost of attending Marian by providing a preview to the assistance you may be eligible to receive.

Families who may have thought they would not qualify are in fact receiving assistance.
Marian’s work-study program is available to students who qualify for tuition assistance with preference given to freshmen and sophomores. The tuition assistance application must be filled out and approved before a student is accepted into the work-study program.
Students earn approximately $600 per semester for their work-study duties. Student assignments before and after school, consist of general cleaning and vacuuming. In-school assignments are performed during study hall blocks. These jobs consist of secretarial work and some light cleaning. The in-school assignments are very limited and will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. If the in-school assignments are filled, you will be assigned a 30-minute before or after school position. Freshmen are not eligible to participate in the in-school work-study program during study hall the first semester. They may apply for the in-school position during study hall second semester.

Marian has more than 200 scholarships that are available to students who apply for tuition assistance. In addition, the following scholarships are also available.
Presidential Scholarships
Four, four-year scholarships are awarded to the eighth graders with the top scores on the Marian placement exam. Value: $1,000 for four years. Renewable. The placement exam must be taken at Marian to be eligible for a Presidential Scholarship.
Servants of Mary Scholarships
One-year scholarships are awarded to the eighth graders with the top scores on the Marian placement exam. Value: $1,000 for one year. Nonrenewable. The placement exam must be taken at Marian to be eligible for a Servants of Mary Scholarship. Last year Marian awarded academic scholarships to 34 eighth graders based on their scores on the Marian placement exam.
Children's Scholarship Fund Scholarship
The Marian Children’s Scholarship Fund Scholarship was established to provide tuition assistance to a girl who, due to financial limitations, might not have considered attending Marian. Each year, Marian works with the Children’s Scholarship Fund of Omaha to make this scholarship opportunity available to the eighth-grade females graduating from the CSF Omaha program. Two, four-year, full tuition scholarships are available to incoming freshmen who will be selected through the CSF application process.
Thelma Landstrom Scholarship
A strong believer in the value of Catholic education, the Thelma Landstrom Scholarship was established to open the doors of Marian to a girl who, due to financial limitations, might not have considered attending a private, college preparatory school. One, four-year, full tuition scholarship is available to an incoming freshman who will be selected through the Children's Scholarship Fund application process.
